Visual Design
In her article “From Analysis to Design”, Diana George explores the past, present and future of multimodality within the English Classroom, discussing the need for educators to adapt to the increasingly visual nature of the media their students consume over the internet. Use of Multiliteracies in the Classroom
With George’s call for teachers to adapt to the digital age, I meet up with a fellow education major, Abigail Leonardo, to discuss the benefits and potential obstacles of teaching multimodal texts within the classroom. Focusing on the topic of comic books/graphic novels, we explore apprehensions from parents and teachers towards the visual media, cultural relevance, and visual symbolism.
